Consider joining a small group at Peace – it’s a terrific opportunity to get to know your fellow Peace members as well as grow closer to God!
What Is a Small Group?
A small group is a relationship-based group of 8 to 12 people where you can connect with other members, the church, and with God in a variety of ways. They are where heart to heart ministry takes place. Small groups are an ideal setting for growing servant disciples. The purpose of small groups is to bring people together with a common interest. The facilitator(s) will determine the first meeting and then it will be up each group to determine actual times and dates they will meet.
Small Groups at Peace
Peace has a variety of small groups. Some are open to adding more members and some small groups have reached capacity.
Peace Quilters (September-June)
Join the Peace Quilters as they meet Tuesdays 9:30am-12:00pm from September-June in the Fireside Room. They make about 30 baby- to adult-sized quilts annually. The quilts are given to infants baptized at Peace, and to those seeking help from Bridging, Community of the Cross Clothes Closet, Cornerstone, and Hope Presbyterian Church’s Vines and Branches Clothing Store. They need sewers, ironers, pin-ers, knot tie-ers, and anyone who loves to chat! There’s also a dessert and coffee break mid-morning! No sewing skills are necessary and you don’t need to come every week. Call Denise Thoen at 952-942-5936 with any questions.
This group meets according to member’s schedules, usually Monday or Tuesdays. New members are welcome! Feel free to join us when you can! We typically meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm at the church. Book selection is announced at the book club meeting, published in the Sunday Bulletin under News at Peace, and also posted on the website. Books are available for check out across from the Reception Desk.
Other Small Groups at Peace
Peace has other small groups to offer such as Men’s Group, Young Couples Group, and Peace Women and Finance Group. These small groups have reached their maximum number of members. However, if you are interested in one of these groups, please contact the church office and we will work with you to see if there is interest from other members in creating another group.
