Senior High Ministry

At Peace we have a variety of ministry opportunities for Sr. High students.

Fall 2011 Senior High Newsletter

Worship at the Perk

Worship at the Perk is an inter-church gathering of Sr. High groups from the Bloomington area. One Sunday a month, we will gather as many of these groups together as we can at West Side Perk to worship, hang-out, and dream about how we can make a difference in our community. Below you will find the dates and times for the up-coming school year.

Regular coffee drinks will be available for purchase by the students. Also, depending on interest, we will provide a light dinner item at a discounted price. To get involved, meet at "The Perk" at 7:00.

Here is our Schedule for the year:
  • Session #6 Feb. 26 @ 6:45-As a Christian: What do you do when you are offered drugs? What do you do if someone you love is using drugs? What do you do if you are addicted to drugs and need help? On Sunday, February 26 from 6:45-8:00 at West Side Perk, we will be dealing with these issues and more from our perspective as Jesus followers. This event is for both students and parents to attend.
  • Session #7 Mar. 25 @7:00
  • Session #8 Apr. 22 @7:00
  • Session #9 May 6 @7:00

Summer Trip to the Boundary Waters!

This summer we are taking 14 ninth through twelfth grade students to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area for a week of camping July 28-August 3. Our outfitter, The Boundary Waters Experience, is a Christian camping ministry that creates the best possible wilderness adventures. While on the trail, groups will experience the 1.2 million acre treasure of pristine wilderness that is overflowing with over 1,200 lakes, rivers, and streams. in this beautiful classroom, groups will engage with nature, grow in faith, and share with one another. Each expedition promotes community, compassion, and personal growth in following God in the way of Jesus Christ. We will have a special presentation by a Boundary Waters Experience trail guide in between services January 15 at 10:00 in the Fire Side Room

YoungLife and Peace

Starting Monday, November ,7 Peace and YoungLife will be partnering together to provide a weekly gathering for senior high students. "Club" begins at 7:30 and runs until 9:00. You can expect a lot of high energy games, music, and a great talk to cap things off. We meet up at the Peace House, but make sure to park your car in the church parking lot. See you there!

One-On-Some

A “One-On-Some” is a small group of students that meets once a month with our youth director to talk about issues of life and faith over some kind of activity. The groups are a response to the often busy, sometimes hectic schedules of our students. The groups are intentionally small and self-organizing so they are able to work around some of the scheduling conflicts that make large-group ministries difficult.

Here is how it works: I have posted a list of potential meeting places and times that you and your group can choose from. Select one of these places, choose a date and time, then message Jason via facebook or phone (952) 944-6510 to set it up. Please do so at least two weeks in advance!

Food: Chipotle, Caribou Coffee, Bruegger’s Bagels, Jamba Juice, Nick and Willies, West Side Perk, Dairy Queen, Scoops, Eden Prairie Food Court, Jefferson Food Court

Places: REI Rock Wall, MOA, Jefferson Activity Center, Hyland Park, Bush Lake, Eden Prairie Mall, Houses

Availability: Monday: 2:30-6:00; Tuesday: 2:30-6:00; Wednesday: 4:00-5:00; Thursday: 2:30-6:00; Weekends: Available Upon Request.

Bible Study with Jason

If you’re going to follow Jesus, you might as well know who he is. This year we will be working through the Gospel of Luke during the education hour. Meet in the Fireside Room and if it wasn’t clearly implied already, bring your Bible!
