Peace’s Middle School Youth program is for kids in Sixth through Ninth Grade. The cornerstone of this program is Confirmation, a three-year program that follows the school year.
Sunday Discussion Group
6th-8th Graders, we have a Sunday morning discussion group just for you! We meet in the Fireside Room from 9:45am-10:30am and talk about interesting, thought provoking questions. Be prepared to have fun!
Over the course of Peace’s Confirmation program, students will spend significant time learning about the Old Testament, New Testament, and Lutheran theology. They will also address some big questions such as “Who is God?” “Who is Jesus?” “Who is the Holy Spirit?” In addition, they will get a lot of time to practice living the Christian life through service opportunities and community-building events. Click here for more information on Faith Milestones for Children.
Middle School Youth participate in a number of service projects in order to obtain service hours towards one of the confirmation requirements. Service hours can be attained through any number of congregational events: service projects, Sunday School assistant, and worship assistant, among them. All Confirmation students are expected to participate as a service assistant twice during the year.
Outside service projects can range from Bridging dresser builds to food packing events to serving meals for Loaves & Fishes.
We plan fun events for our Confirmation students too! Those can range from seeing a movie together to a weekend Confirmation retreat.
