High School Youth, Ninth through Twelfth Graders, generally have been confirmed and are now expected to live out their confirmation promises…with a little help from their families and the Peace Congregation!

High School Youth are expected to continue attending worship and participate as worship assistants, if they wish. We also encourage them to “serve all people following the example of Jesus” by participating in service projects and in fellowship.

Service

High School Youth are encouraged to participate in a variety of service within and outside of Peace.

  • Within Peace, High School Youth can assist with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, be Service Assistants, host Sunday fellowship, just to name a few.
  • Outside of Peace, they can bring the Good News on mission trips to help those in need. They also can participate in congregation-wide service such as dresser builds, food packing events, blanket tying, etc. Extra helping hands are always appreciated!

Fellowship

We plan fun events for High School youth too! Fun stuff can range from seeing a movie together, grabbing a cup of coffee, to snow tubing, to paintball, to just hanging out, talking, and listening to great music.

Watch for more information in our Sunday bulletin, Partners newsletter, or visit the Upcoming Family Events page of our website!

2018 ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston, TX (June 27-July 1, 2018)

Peace Youth this is for you! You can even bring one friend! We will be traveling to Houston next June 27-July 1, 2018. This is a really big deal!! Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the ELCA gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives.
