Mission:
The mission of our youth program is, “to raise up generations of Christians passionately who are aware of and engaged in God’s movement to renew the world.” To that end, the confirmation program serves as a three-year hinge point whereby the faith formation of the kids changes hands from parents to the kids and their peers. Our goal by the end of this process is to deliver a team of students that both owns and acts on their role in God’s work in the world.

Who is Confirmation For?
This program has in mind students entering grades seven through nine who intend to both confirm their faith and take an active role in the life of Peace Lutheran Church. That being said, the program is not compulsory and so is open to students and adults who would like to confirm and activate their faith within the context of this community. Students and adults that fall into this category will be worked with on a case-by-case basis to ensure that all interested parties are aware of and engaged with the program. 

Program Overview
The majority of the ‘program’ is educational in nature and has been divided into three, year-long sections that cover the Old Testament, New Testament, Lutheran Theology/Practical Theology. For the bulk of the first semester, we will meet Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45 in classroom 4 downstairs. Things will shift when we get to Lent. Students will attend the Lenten service then get into their small groups. After Lent we will shift back to Sunday mornings to finish the year.
